What Is a Pencil/Gauge-Type Displacement Sensor?
When the contact probe touches the workpiece, the measuring spindle produces a linear displacement matching the target’s position; the sensor converts this mechanical movement into readable, transmittable, and actionable electronic data.

The KWT series integrates an optical grating system with an image sensor for absolute measurement. Supported models offer RS232 or RS485 communication for direct integration with PLCs, industrial PCs (IPCs), digital display counters, and data acquisition units.
Actuation methods define how the probe approaches the workpiece, how it resets, and how contact force is governed.
KWT7 | Pneumatic Grating:
0–12.7 mm stroke, 0.16–0.2 MPa operating air pressure, uses Φ4 mm tubing. Ideal for automated inspection stations requiring controlled probe extension and retraction cycles.
KWI | Spring-Rebound Full-Bridge Inductive:
Offers 2 mm, 5 mm, and 10 mm stroke options, repeatability $\le 0.15\ \mu\text{m}$, IP65 enclosure. Tungsten carbide probe tips and precision ball bearing guides ensure contact repeatability and mechanical longevity.
KWH | Pneumatic-Push Full-Bridge Inductive:
10 mm stroke, minimum measuring force as low as 0.2 N, adjustable contact pressure via pneumatic regulation. Ideal for delicate workpieces such as glass, medical vials, and flexible plastics requiring feather-light touch.
